palm fronds take new shape

There were at least three. All with a unique up do like they were ready for a party. I know the ties that held them in this position were cut so now I wonder how long it will take for the fronds to fall. I may have to stalk these trees to find out.

Above are a few images that I gathered from a camping trip last summer in the California Mountains. Even though it was summer, there were still large patches of snow due to the long spring season. I really loved how the snow was so delicately receding from each item it surrounded. Lots of beautiful fungi and plants were all around.

camouflage in red

maple leaves hid my foot while i was shooting. it was a delightfully unexpected camo pattern.

autumnal oasis

a strip of suburban fall color created an autumnal oasis. bounded by california's dry grass/golden hills, it stands out. the  developer-inspired nature-scape in the midst of a more genuine landscape interests me.
