squash attack

yes. it's true. they've taken over. i just saw a huge one hiding under the leaves, crooked from it's body being twisted by growing interwoven through the leaf shoots. maybe tomorrow i will be brave enough to pick it.

zuke chips
drying slices in the oven proved to be a great success. it condensed the sugars and made a surprisingly tasty chip. 150 to 200 degrees for about 6 hours on a cookie cooling rack did the trick. if you try this at home, please do NOT place zukes directly onto your cookie sheet. you will never get them off! I have a pan soaking right now in hopes of salvaging it. this experiment made me really want a food dryer. A little garlic yogurt dip would be perfect with these.

yum yum yum. quinn must love these! do you think it would work to put them on parchment on the cookie sheet?

i think parchment paper would work. ctting too thin seems to make them tough to eat later. like regular chips (utz) they're best when eaten fresh but less than fresh would work in lasag or some other zuke dish this winter.
